Anatomy of the Roti.

I’m a simple guy.   I like simple things.  It generally does not take a lot to make me happy or to shut me up.  I will tell what does make me happy.  Roti. It’s amazing how a four letter can trigger the most  amazing smile on my face.   For those of you living under a rock for the last 30 years,  allow me to explain.

curry stew folded tightly within a dhalpuri or paratha roti. The stew within a wrap roti generally contains potatoes and a meat such as chicken, duck, goat, beef, conch or shrimp”.

That a pretty description but allow me:

A boneless chicken roti is an oasis from a 10 hour day, a refuge from a long ride on train, and a rescue from those who believe Chik-fil-a, Chipotle, and Panera Bread are the only ways to reach culinary nirvana.

It’s a simple meal but it brings deep memories of my mom bringing home that brown bag with the curry smell and grease stain on the side of the bag.   Roti was the reward I gave myself when I would get an “A” on my college assignments.  Roti Hut was the most amazing place.  The food was always fresh, the lines long, and the prices fair.

Some may think this blog is ridiculous. Not me.  I’m just capturing how I feel about my favorite things.  Life is short.  Try a boneless chicken roti.  You won’t regret it. Enjoy.
